July's Sketch Challenge

A new month - time for a new sketch challenge!

All you have to do to enter my sketch challenge is make a scrapbook page inspired by this sketch. Complete it at or before my July workshops. Bring it to the workshop in your area (or email me a picture if you can't be there this month) and I'll put you in the draw... it's that easy!

I would love you to have some CM product on your page if you have it... but if not, please don't let that stop you (after all, you just might just have some after entering...)

My July workshops are:
Christchurch, Saturday 10th 2pm.
Timaru, Thursday 15th 7pm.
Contact me to book your place.

Here is a picture of the page that inspired the sketch. Very simple and very geometric... don't you just love those accurate trimmers!

For the Boys

Finally a card challenge! I haven't entered any for about two weeks - I feel as though I'm not getting anything done at present, and crafting seems to be the first thing to go. However, I had a little space yesterday and I found two challenges to hit in one go: One Stop Craft Challenge (85) provided the theme (For the Boys) and Stamping 411 (156) the sketch.

Colours used are Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze, with Not Quite Navy ink. The papers are from the lovely Urban Gardens set. Very masculine!

Flat Belli Challenge

I'm thrilled to tell you that I won the Creative Belli Blog's challenge a couple of weeks ago with this card:

I'm not intentionally being humble, but maybe the good cardmakers were busy that week? What I mean is that I am painfully aware of how much I have yet to learn about cardmaking, and I am blown away by the samples I see on these blogs.

However, all that aside, I am stoked to have my first award to post on my blog - hurrah!

June Sketch Challenge Results

I had some lovely entries for my first sketch challenge... thank you for your participation! Here are some of my faves...

Christine

Carol

Val

Rebecca
Helen - Helen, yours is so gorgeous I had to feature it here anyway! I hope you don't mind.
I used "The Hat" (an awesome little bit of software) to randomly draw two winners, and they are... drumroll... Val in Christchurch and Christine in Timaru. Woohoo! Well done ladies... a little prize pack is winging it way to you in the post, with some ABC lettering and papers.

Genesis Chapter 1

The Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge this week is to feature an animal in your card... "make a card/project that has some kind of animal on it; i.e., a fish, bird, land mammal, or a creeping bug." I like the idea of the "creeping bug", so here is my birthday card for my wee cousin Connor.
I am loving using my punches at the moment, and this one features my circle punches, scallop punch and bubble maker. The papers are from the Cottage Garden DSP set.

Mojo Monday's Round Sketch Challenge

Mojo Monday's round or square sketch challenge - and for the first time I decided to go with round. I used Helen's technique for spreading out the scallops from my scallop maker punch (this was fun) and used someone's else's tip of creasing the fold on the back page.

I made two cards for this sketch with quite different papers. See which one you like best!

Ingredients: SU's Cottage Wall papers, Pink Pirouette and Rich Razzleberry cardstock. Sentiment from Happy moments set.

Ingredients: CM's Black and White DSP and black and white cardstock. Sentiment from Sweet Little Sentiments set, and Crystal Effects for texturing the purple hearts. For both: CM's new butterfly pocket punch, which I am LOVING!

June Sketch Challenge

I am starting a sketch challenge which I will draw at my workshops. For the first sketch I chose a really simple one - it is the same one we used at the Crop for a Cause. I didn't want to scare anyone off! Here it is:
Becky Caithness has let me know that this sketch was designed by Becky Fleck at pagemaps.com. What a talented lady! (And thank you Becky C for letting me know).
How to enter? All you have to do is create a scrapbook page inspired by this sketch (it does not have to follow the sketch exactly) and bring it along to the June workshop in your area. You could even complete it at the workshop. If you can't make it to a workshop this month, take a photo of your page and email it to me to still be in the draw. Since the prize is some Creative Memories product, please make sure there is some CM on your page.
Here is my take on the sketch, that I completed at the Crop for a Cause:

Workshop Dates:

Christchurch June 12, 2pm.

Timaru June 17, 7pm.
