Fun with Auntie Michele

The team at Artfull Crafts have provided us with a sketch this month to play with. I love experimenting with other people's sketches - we often get stuck doing the same kind of thing every time we stare at a blank page, and with someone's sketch I feel like I try other things.
I kept it pretty simple and just followed the suggestion as given.
This is a gorgeous wee photo of Michele and Emma taken last week at Orana Wildlife Park. I think it deserves a page all to itself, so the single-image sketch worked well.

Just Add Digital

The Scrapbooking challenge over on Just Add Ink this month is to be either fully digital or to create a hybrid page. Mine is fully digi. I used both the examples the ladies gave us and came up with a roughly sketched layout. I then used Storybook Creator to put together a design. I used papers from the Discover palette along with the distressed overlays kit. The font is segoe script (my new favourite) and the alpha set is Holidazzle.
I love these photos. Grandad plays the trumpet and cornet, and now so do two of his grandsons. They live overseas and rarely get the chance to play together. But this winter they are visiting for six weeks and it's been so awesome hearing them play together.

Just add a Bloke

I had a little play this afternoon with the ombre idea. The Heart 2 Heart challenge site has some great ideas for this, and there is also a YouTube video showcasing some easy ways with ombre. I masked part of the card face with Post-It notes whilst sponging the rest, and it gave me the chance to show a gradient of the same colour. I also chose to go with the masculine theme this week, as it is the challenge over on Just Add Ink.

To create this card, I used my Cricut for the tag shape, Navy Ink and Cardstock, a paper from SU and a CTMH stamp. I popped the tag up with foam squares. The card dimensions are 4" x 7.5".
(I don't know if you noticed, but I also tried to create an ombre effect in the background of my photo!)

Less is More... Shoes!

The Less is More Challenge this week is based on this gorgeously stunning photo... these shoes are sweet and elegant and sophisticated all at once! I just love them. They led me back to my Cricut, which has a very lovely shape of an elegant shoe just begging to be utilised. So here is my card for the current challenge.

Square Cards

Square cards are my passion right now... because I am having so much fun creating little boxes to put them in!
These gorgeous little notecards measure just under 4" square. They are made with the Cricut, which is my new toy. I'm working on a project with this theme for my next workshop on August 16th. If you're not yet registered, express your interest SOON!
The cardstock is Stampin Up - Gumball Green, Melon Mambo and Not Quite Navy, and the DSP is called Sunshine and Sprinkles, which is just delightful.
